Commonly Asked Questions

How much do braces cost?

There is actually no average treatment cost. Your treatment is very individualized. So, it all depends on the goals of treatment, which our patients help to define with their orthodontist. The most common treatment is our comprehensive treatment plan (both upper and lower teeth) can cost around $5,880.  Depending on your treatment plan, these costs can range from a minor correction of $1,230 to the most challenging of cases costing about $8,150.

Why an Orthodontist vs a Dentist?

What is important to know as a potential patient is that when you see an AAO certified orthodontist, you are going to have the most customized treatment plan available. There are many tools in an orthodontic office and it’s the way our Doctors can DIAGNOSE your case that sets us apart. Diagnosing is the most difficult part of orthodontics. It’s the experience and knowledge of knowing HOW and WHEN to do something. We have treated more than 13,000 patients in our practice. We are confident in treating our patients and believe experience matters!

Can I just have my front teeth straightened?

Yes, of course, you can. However, a specialty-trained orthodontist will also help you understand the benefits and drawbacks of making that choice. An American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Doctor will be sure to advise you and provide information to correct your overall bite to avoid any further complications (and costs) associated with other issues that may develop with just straightening the front teeth.

Are there other hidden fees for my braces?

This is an important question to ask. Many offices structure their fees differently. Keep in mind that our fee includes EVERYTHING. We do not upcharge for retainers, special appointment times, x-rays, digital records or post treatment appointments. We continue to monitor your progress while wearing your retainers during your two-year, post-treatment observation period. This uncompromised care makes us unique in our industry.  There are many extra fees that can add-up and can make our pricing very similar to those who offer discounts.

Do you offer easy payment plans?

Yes! We want everyone to be able to afford a beautiful smile for an improved self-image. We offer a 0% interest monthly payment plan for our patients. We do require an initial down payment to begin treatment. Our treatment coordinators can help you with the financial details. We also offer CARE CREDIT to help you with your payment plans. For those who are able to pay for their treatment in-full, you will be eligible for a 5% discount. Multiple family members are eligible to receive a discount too!

Does my insurance pay for braces?

This can be a complicated question.  Some dental insurances will pay a single lifetime benefit towards orthodontic braces or Invisalign for each child or family member covered whether the orthodontist is “in” or “out of network”.  All insurance plans differ, our office will gladly verify your orthodontic benefit. Braces are typically considered cosmetic and do not require medical treatment in the State of Indiana.  We also accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) insurance benefits to help defray the cost of braces.
